Abstract
In this study, we compared the peak torque and muscle resistance of high school golfers while they swing the iron, previous to weight training and after weight training. The object of this study is to come up with basic information on methods to train Jr. Player¡¯s physical ability to improve their competitiveness. The participatant this study were high school boys who had over three years of experience and had a handicap of under 7. The training was based on a 12 week period where they participated in weight training. Surface electrodes were used to record the level of muscle activities in the elector spinae, external oblique, rectus femoris and gastrocnemius during golf swing. The result of the tests are as follow; The peak torque improved statistically from before and after the weight training (p<0.05). The muscle resistance also improved statistically from before and after the weight training(p<0.05). If you look at the changes in the muscle activities there were some noticeable changes. In the first part there were big differences statistically in LES, LQF, RGCM(p<0.05). In the second part there were big differences statistically in, LES, LQF, RQF(p<0.05). In the third part, there were big differences statistically, REA, LQF, RQF(p<0.05).
